John will address the crowd at the 2019 gala awards ceremony and dinner at the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin, on the evening of Thursday, September 26th.

Founded in 2011, Intercom, the customer platform helping internet businesses accelerate growth, now has over 30,000 paying customers globally, has raised $241m in funding, and over 600 staff at offices in Dublin, San Francisco, London, Chicago and Sydney.

John joined Intercom in 2014 to spin up the company’s content marketing program and he now leads a team of 10 editors and marketing managers, who produce and promote Intercom’s award-winning blog, podcast, books and social media.

Working with Intercom co-founder Des Traynor, they published Intercom’s first book, Intercom on Product Management, which has been downloaded over 100,000 times. In 2015, John launched the Inside Intercom podcast, which is now a weekly production and last year was Intercom’s fastest growing editorial channel, with an average of 80,000 downloads a month.

John has been asked to speak about Intercom’s unique approach to content marketing at conferences and events in the US, the UK, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Romania, Slovenia and Ireland.

Last year John and the Intercom oversaw a major overhaul of the Inside Intercom blog which saw it relaunched as a fully-fledged publication, about sales, marketing and customer support. With over 100,000 visitors every month it continues to be a major driver of leads and business for Intercom, as well as being a core part of the company’s employer branding efforts.

John is a former journalist and editor with over 20 years’ experience covering technology and business. After a brief stint in PR and music journalism, he began his career in technology journalism as the editor of PC Live!, at the time the best-selling computer magazine in the Irish market. His knowledge of consumer technology led to him being asked to co-present TechTV on RTE 2 with Keelin Shanley in 1998.
